Hoof rasps and abrasives: selection criteria

Compare manual hoof rasps by their tooth pattern, working faces and size. For abrasive belts, also check dimensions, grit and machine compatibility.

Wire brushes belong to a different family with their own applications and requirements. Do not transfer one abrasive's instructions to another: each reference specifies the working material and conditions of use.

Does PFERD make tools used in farriery?

Yes. Although its industrial activities are wide-ranging, it has an established hoof rasp range. Workshop abrasives and accessories should be selected for their specific application.
